Reframing the Disability Lens to Increase the Economic Stability of Youth and Families

MD PROMISE, APHSA & 2 GEN

Transitioning from school to work or post secondary education has long been a challenge for many of America’s young people. There are many steps to take, decisions to make, and challenges to overcome. For young people with disabilities, these challenges are far greater, as they are for young people who are experiencing poverty. For young people facing barriers related to both their own disability and their families’ financial situation, the pathway from school to work or further learning is even more difficult to navigate.
